Success, Is It Just Another Word?
by Trina Newby
I pray that those reading this article will take heed
and put it into action. This little bit of information has put me on
the road of true success!

"I want to be successful".....
Success although a meaningful word is becoming just another word that people use to express their fantasy to become rich, achieve dreams and goals. Notice I said fantasy, because one of the most important things I've learned about becoming successful is that it requires an unusual and powerful mental energy in order to transform your desire and dream into reality.
To say that you want to become successful and to do nothing to bring that goal into a reality causes that goal to become a negative one, which has more negative consequences than you could ever imagine! Why? Because once you speak something into existence without focus and action behind it you send negative responses to your subconscious mind that you can't do it, which in turn sabotages your very desire to achieve your dreams and goals.
You see I believe that we really can speak positive accomplishments into existence and that we really can achieve incredible goals within a short period of time. It's through practicing a most simple, but powerful technique that most people have become lazy in doing, "FOCUSING".
As a business consultant and coach, it amazes me that most people who come to me for assistance in starting their business do not want to take the time to focus and put their goals into action! I guess it's because most people prefer to stay in the fantasy world and dream about their potential success instead of stepping outside of their box and making it happen.
However, I also understand how personal fears, years of negative thinking and years of letting others tell you that your idea won't work can sabotage your very desires and goals.
We live in a country (USA) where "the sky really is the limit" and not taking advantage of all of the many advantages it has to offer is like sitting in your house and watching TV while others are in your backyard mining diamonds. TV looks good, sounds good and has great information, but it won't get you rich or help you accomplish your goals. Only you can do that. You must reach into your diamond mind and start harvesting your potential.
4 Ways to Turn Your Success Thoughts Into Action!
The first step is to start practicing the art of "Focus". Two books you must read and both are my favorites are “The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People”, by Stephen Covey and "The Power of Focus" by Jack Canfield, Mark Victor Hansen and Les Hewitt. These two books have really summed it up for you in a nutshell by giving some excellent examples and ways to focus your mind for maximum results.
Second, I really suggest that you start journaling your goals and breaking down how you will accomplish them, who are the people that you will need to help you get it done and how soon do you want to see it become a reality.
Third, you must realize that you shouldn't and don't have to do it all alone to be successful. Write down what you feel you need to achieve your success goals. Do you need a life coach to hold you accountable and help you in developing positive habits to see faster results? Do you need to take personal development courses to strengthen your life management skills? Whatever support and motivation you need, it’s there for you and all you have to do is seek it.
Fourth, implement focus power daily by taking 5 minutes out of every hour to ask yourself the question, "Am I focusing on the right thing this hour to accomplish the goal that I have set for myself today, this week, this month, this quarter, this year...?"
If what you are doing in any given hour or timeframe isn't helping you to achieve your goal in some part of your life - you need to get rid of it!!!!!!
"No discipline seems pleasant at the time, but painful. Later on, however, it produces a harvest of righteousness and peace for those who have been trained by it." Hebrews 12:11 (NIV)
